Mrs. Dorothy F. Johnson passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 in Gardenia, California. Age 64 years. She was born May 26, 1946 in Huntsville, Alabama to David and Cora (Sykes) Vaughn.
Dorothy was employed by the Sheriffs Department in Los Angeles, CA and had been a foster parent to many children for over 30 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Elijah Curry of Compton, California, two daughters and two sons, Carla Johnson, Greensboro, NC, Sherlane Johnson, Kosciusko, MS, Byrd Johnson Jr., Compton, CA, Torrey Johnson, St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Corey Johnson, Kosciusko, MS, Marvel Wooden, Kosciusko, MS, Brandon, Chris, Devon Johnson, Tampa, FL, Sanai, Jaden Johnson, Greensboro, NC, Kilynn Collins, Greensboro, NC, Stephon, Keiara, Shavon Lewis, Saginaw, MI; great-grandchildren, James Roach, Andrell Lewis, Deshawn Mill Jr., Saginaw, MI; three sisters, Alice Clemons, Kathereen Ware, Ruby Vaughn; two brothers, David Vaughn Jr., Michael Vaughn; sister-in-law, Terry Vaughn; brother-in-law, Amos Curry; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Ms. Anderson, Mrs. Curtis, Compton, CA and Billie of AZ.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, David Vaughn and Cora Roach; grandparents, Jimmie and Fannie Stenson; sisters, Judy Talley, Mary Porter; grandsons, Kyle Johnson and Andrell Johnson.
