Ms. Dorothy Mae Tyler passed away Friday, May 2014 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center. Age 60 years. She was born March 20, 1954 in Troy, Alabama to Mary and L.C. Townsend.
Dorothy was a graduate of Saginaw High School. She was employed with Saginaw Delphi Steering Gear for 29 faithful years and Covenant Healthcare-Harrison Food Service for 1 years. She was a member of New Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Rufus Bradley. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, cookouts and playing bingo. Her wonderful presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, L.C. Townsend, Jeffrey (Barbara) Townsend, Michael (Valerie) Townsend, Pat (Mack) Young, Leonia Fairley and David Mack; grandchildren, Deontey Tyler, Bianca Tyler and Byron Turner; father, L.C. Townsend; three nieces, Tamerian Townsend, Lakeshia Young and Kimari Mitchell; five nephews, Quincy Townsend, James Townsend, Troy Townsend, Chris Townsend and Dominick Warrick; seven aunts, Mariah McKinney, Bertha McBride, Nora and Grace Townsend, Annie Burns, Lill Davenport and Jessie Lee Jackson; three uncles, James McKinney, Oliver and Willie Townsend; many other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by two daughters, Aricka and Latoya Tyler, mother, Mary Lou Townsend, grandparents, William and Annie McNeal, one brother, Chris Townsend, several aunts and uncles.
