Dorothy Mae Braxton

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Braxton passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper ICU after putting up a good fight against a lengthy illness. Age 78 years. She was born March 25, 1937 in Arcadia, Louisiana to Dozie Hines and May Lou Raddford.
Dorothy was a retired dietician from the Veterans Administration Hospital with over 30 years of service. She was also a beloved and nurturing foster grandparent at Saginaw Preparatory Academy for many years. Dorothy was one of Jehovahs witnesses, serving her Heavenly Father faithfully for over 35 years. She was a beautiful woman who absolutely cherished her family. She loved fishing, sewing, gardening and spending time with her three beautiful grandchildren and her beloved dog, Goldie.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Sherry (Darryl) Breckenridge, Kathy Watkins (Jermaine Franklin) all of Saginaw, Michigan; three precious grandchildren, Petyon Shlane Pruitt, Kyla Amere Brown and Kenny Lamar Watkins, Jr.; one sister, Anita Lewis of Dallas, Texas; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie Braxton, father, Dozie Hines, mother, May Lou Raddford, four brothers, Ralph, J.T., Calvin and William Hines, two sisters, Betty Sue Dunn and Mildred Williams.
