Dorothy Morgan

June 15, 1950 — November 3, 2020

Mrs. Dorothy A. Morgan was born June 15, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of David and Marcal Coleman. God called her name on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the promised age of 70 years.

Dorothy was a graduate of Bay City Central High School “Class of 1968”. She was a member of Historic Second Baptist Church in Bay City, Michigan under the leadership of the late Pastor Seth Doyle. She was faithful to God and to her church. Dorothy was employed by St. Luke’s Hospital in February 1980 and worked tirelessly until her retirement in June 2015. She married the love of her life, Edward Morgan, and the two were happily married for 55 years until he preceded her in death.

Watching soap operas was Dorothy’s favorite pastime. She enjoyed talking on the phone with her best friends Anita Holmes and Diana Bowie. Nothing was more precious to her than spending time with her children and grandchildren, but her great-grands were the joy of her life. A beautiful soul, caring and compassionate, is how she will always be remembered and cherished.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Morgan; parents, David and Marcal Coleman; sisters, Rea’Nalda Conrad, Pearlie Hill, Georgia Lewis; nephew, Anthony Coleman; niece, Jessica Coleman; friend, Alice Austin.

She leaves a lifetime of memories with three children, Edie (Harry) Taylor, Saginaw, Michigan, Brian (Shayla) Morgan, Everett Morgan, both of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Sade Morgan, Brian Morgan Jr., Camron Morgan, Mercedes Lewis, Jetta Morgan; great-grandchildren, Christina Garcia, Nia Garcia, Amyrah Mitchell, Diego Santana Garcia, Mylah Mitchell, Robin Garcia; sisters, Marie (John) Davis, Bay City, Michigan, Janice (Carlton) Staples; brothers, Andre, James and David Coleman, all of Bay City, Michigan; aunt, Hattie (William) Qualls; mother-in-law, Jamie Hendrix; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Anita Holmes, Diana Bowie and Freda Sandoval.

The family would like to express special thanks to who everyone who offered kind words, condolences and prayers, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
