Dorothy Nash (Lansing)

June 27, 1954 — February 12, 2022

Dorothy Mae Nash transitioned this life to her heavenly home on February 12, 2022.  She was born in Lambert, Mississippi on June 27th, 1954, to the late John Nelson Nash and Addie Mae Nash (Glover).

She attended Southside Jr High School and Quitman County High School in Marks, Mississippi. After attending High School, she relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1975, this is where her servitude began. Dorothy had a career in hotel management for several years and was known for her vibrant smile and amazing personality.

Dorothy was united in holy matrimony to Ronald Leon Bates. She later moved to Lansing, Michigan.

Sister Dorothy accepted Christ as her personal savior under leadership of the late Pastor Larry Mitchell Trice, Sr. at Pentecostal Outreach Church of God in Christ. Sister Dorothy served throughout the Body of Christ under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Angeline L. Trice, Tabernacle of David; Pastor Harry Chandler, International Harvest Church; and  Pastors Dr. Willie and Angela Loggins, House of Prayer Outreach COGIC. Sister Dorothy was a true servant and embodied Psalms 84:10, “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I’d rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

She leaves to cherish her memories her three children: Michael Dawayne (Kameca) Nash of Henderson, Tennessee, Jeremy LaRon Bates of Lansing, Michigan, and Naquorea Chantell Nash of Lansing, Michigan, 5 grandsons, Mason, Romere, G’Yanni, Genesis, and Romell; 2 granddaughters, Makaila and Mariah; siblings, Ollie M. (George) Walton  of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Arthur (Jackie) Loggins of Baltimore, Maryland, Pastor Willie (Angela) Loggins of Lansing, Michigan, John (Barbara) Nash of Nashville, Tennessee, Sylvia McCoy of Lansing, Michigan, Bettye (Harry) Chandler, Sr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, Deacon    Willie James (LeAyne) Nash of Lansing, Michigan, Mary (Edward Lee) Nickens, Sr. of Lambert, Mississippi, Aretha Eady of Lansing, Michigan and Minister Henry (Jacqueline) Nash of Lansing, Michigan;  and many other relatives, God children and friends.
