Dorothy Prince (Lansing)

July 19, 1946 — April 15, 2019

Dorothy (Dot) Mae Prince was born July 19, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama to parents, Dorothy Lucille Ballard and Joseph Ballard, who preceded her in death.

She went to Trinity Gardens High School in Mobile, Alabama. At the tender age of 21, she moved to Lansing, Michigan with her husband, Neal Prince. They went on to have 3 beautiful children Raymond Lee Prince, Alphonse (Karen) Bernard Prince Sr., who also precedes her in death, Doris Marie Prince and Step daughter Ruth Ann Flantoil.

She worked at General Motors where she later left and ended up on disability. She proclaimed Christ at an early age and attended Solid Rock Church. She loved to play cards and watch anything that pertained to Steve Harvey, especially Family Feud. She enjoyed spending time with her grand babies and was looking forward to them coming this Thanksgiving. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and sitting around her friends laughing and joking. Dot was very loving but would let you know what was on her mind whether you liked it or not.

She later divorced and eventually moved to Indianapolis, Indiana with her daughter in 2000. Four years later she met Idalis Dillard (Dee Dee) a man who was totally there for her during good and bad times. His devotion to her was undeniable and greatly appreciated. She spent 15 wonderful years with Dee Dee and he was there with her at the time of death.

The Lord saw it fit to release Dot from her early assignment on April 15, 2019 and transitioned her to her heavenly reward. She will be forever loved and missed. She had special relationships with her grandchildren, Saniyah Hodge-Prince and Rashawna Lashelle Prince, as she had a significant part in raising them. Her memory shall forever be cherished by her Sister, Joann Prince, Brother, Johnny Ballard, her 3 kids, step daughter, 25 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
