Dorthy Jones (Lansing)

Mrs. Dorthy Jones passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Holt Senior Care Center in Holt, Michigan. Age 74 years. She was born on Friday, December 31, 1948, in Morgan City, Mississippi to Lillie Mae Williams and Willie James Rhodes.

Dorthy and her family moved to Lansing, Michigan while she was in her teens. She attended schools in the Lansing School District. Dorthy was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School. She was employed by the Lansing Radisson Hotel for many years, eventually retiring from there. Dorthy loved to cook, watch soaps, listen to all kinds of music especially Blues and gospel. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory 2 sons, John Jones and William Jones; daughter, Debra Jones; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sister, Earlene Rhodes; 7 nieces; 6 nephews; aunt, Jimmy Lee; uncle, Pete; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Brenda Jones; her parents; 3 brothers, Ervin Hall, Willie Rhodes, and Doug Rhodes; and aunt, Sis.
