Douglas J Brown 'Doug'

Douglas J. Brown Doug passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Faith Regional Health Center of Norfolk, Nebraska. Age 64 years. He was born on July 20, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of McKinnely and Helen (George) Brown.
Douglas was raised in Saginaw and graduated from high school. He worked as a certified mechanic at the former General Motors Saginaw Malleable Iron Plant. Douglas was a member of UAW Local 455. On May 23, 1978, Douglas married Maryon Davis in Saginaw. The couple made their home in Saginaw prior to moving to Norfolk, Nebraska in 1987 when Doug took employment at the IBP Plant in Madison, Nebraska. This later became Tyson Fresh Meats, where Doug then retired in 2013.
He is survived by his spouse of 40 years, Maryon Brown, their children, Dietrich Davis of Saginaw, Michigan, Douglas Brown, Jr. and Charles Edwin Brown, both of Norfolk, Nebraska; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Helen (George) Brown, Saginaw, Michigan; three brothers, Jimmy Brown, McKinnely Brown, Jr., and Marvin (Sabrina) Brown; two sisters, Gloria Jean Draine and Betty Brown; two sisters-in-law, Ethel (Charles) Johnson and Dortha (James) Hearn; two brothers-in-law, John Davis and Eddie (Patricia) Davis; and many other relatives and friends.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, McKinnely Brown, Sr.; one son, Jerrell Davis; one brother, Charles Brown; one sister, Ruby Underwood; two nephews, Robert Draine and Marvin Brown, Jr.; three aunts, Zenobia Birden, Inez Sharper, and Gloria Layton.
A great man will be missed.
