Ms. Drettice Layton was born February 16, 1962 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Murphy and Geraldine Layton. She completed her life’s work on Monday, May 18, 2020 at the age of 58 years.
Drettice lived in Saginaw and graduated from Saginaw High School. She worked in housekeeping most of her career. She loved helping people, watching TV, being a mother and grandmother, and let's not forget, being nosey (LOL). Drettice was full of life and was always the life of the party. She loved playing and spending time with her great-grandson Karter. Her vivacious spirit and beautiful presence will truly be missed.
Drettice leaves precious memories with four children, Neosha (Eric) DuRussel, Deronn (Traci) Layton, Shayla Layton, and Marquavis Essex; parents, Murphy and Geraldine Layton; grandchildren, Alexus Ray, Adriessa Alvarez, Curtney Davis, Terrance Layton, Michael Layton, and Donovan Layton, Mckylah and Maribella Essex; great-grandchildren, Jayceon Alvarez, Karter Jones, Jay’oni Smothers; sisters, Leada (Shirley), Sharon, Patricia, Tracey and Demetria Jones; one brother, Earl Jones; nieces Mashondra Mannie, Ladonna, Maquetta and Lucretia Jones; nephews, Chris, Michael, Coatis Jones, Deonta Anderson; many other relatives and friends, including special friends Trina Beloch, Regina Mosley, Kenny Coleman, James Young, Annie and Ollie J. Goodman
