Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend departed this life on May 18, 2017 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison with his loving son and sisters by his side. Earl Harvey Young was born on October 8, 1942 to Earl and Ruby D. Young.
Mr. Earl Young was born in Carlisle, Arkansas and later moved to Detroit, Michigan with his family. He attended school in the Carlisle and Detroit Public School Systems. Earl later moved to Saginaw, Michigan in pursuit of a better life. He found employment with General Motors and retired after many years of service. Earl loved spending time with family and friends. He loved his family dearly and would give them the shirt off his back. Earl thanked God for life; his favorite saying was I thank the Good Lord every morning for waking me up. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He found contentment in sitting on his porch; waving to passers-by and watching the cars go by. Mr. Young will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Earl leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Alice Young; children, Terrence (Elli) Young, Saginaw, Michigan, Clarence (Tameka) Young, Toledo, Ohio, Michael Young, Antoine and Angela Future of Cleveland, Ohio; a host of grand and great-grandchildren; sisters, Artrice Nichols, Carlisle, Arkansas, Equilar Muhammad and Ollie Reid, Saginaw, Michigan, Velma (Percy) Johnson and Gwendolyn Young, Detroit, Michigan, and Sherman (Betty) Young of Bridgeland, Texas; seven sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law of Cleveland, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special nieces and nephews, Arkeisha Jackson, Iesha Swilley, Sheldon Poole and Tony Young; special friends, Robert Lord and Bennie Palmore.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruby Young, sisters, Mary Adams and Mandy Young, brother, John Albert Young, grandchildren, Tyrone and Madison Young; brothers-in-law, Norman Adams, Henry Nichols, Charlie Harris (close friend), William Reid and Jacob Muhammad.
