Earnestine Jackson passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Age 85 years. She was born June 20, 1927 in Learned, Mississippi to Joe and Mamie Cooper.
Earnestine Cooper married Herman Jackson on March 1, 1947 in Lernard, Mississippi. She relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1952. Earnestine found Christ at an early age and was a member of Truevine Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved her family and her extended family. Earnestine played a huge part in the lives of her family and had a major part in the nurturing of all her grandchildren. Every week all of her loved ones lined up for her fabulous Sunday dinners. Earnestine was like a Grizzly Bear when it came to all the children that she had a hand in raising. She was a huge part of our lives. We Love you!!
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Helena (Bill) Badger; one step-son, Eddie El-Amin; four grandchildren, William Jamal (Patrice) Badger, Terry Winters, Brian (Alexis) Mitchell, Mariah (Marlon) Barnett; six great-grandchildren, Aaron, Elijah, Keyion, Kamryn and William III Badger, Alonte Barefield; one brother, Eddie (Bud) Cooper, Edwards, Mississippi; five nieces, Doris Mitchell, Muskegon, Michigan, Brenda Baker, Edwards, Mississippi, Betty (Kelly) Perrymond, Clinton, Mississippi, Delois (James) Green, Esther Hubbard Sister five nephews, Joe Ed (Connie) Cooper and Willie Lee Cooper, both of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Bobby and Lonnie Cooper, both of Edwards, Mississippi; seven cousins, Irene Branch, Janie Jackson, Marylee Howard, Claudia (Alfonzo) Abner, Joe (Maureen) Johnson, Shirley Bibbs, Elnora Carson; four sisters-in-law, Johnnie Mae (Tommie) Essex and Lula Mae Jackson, Edwards, Mississippi, Paulette Jackson, Chicago, Illinois, Maggie Fields, Vicksburg, Mississippi; two brothers-in-law, Reverend Eddie (Wanda) Jackson, Saginaw, Michigan, Russell (Robin) Jackson, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Yolonda Barefield, Mary D. Earnestine was preceded in death her parents, Joe and Mamie Cooper; husband, Herman Jackson; one daughter, Albertina Jackson.
