Ms. Earnestine Stinson passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at her residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 73 years. She was born July 16, 1949, in Lambrook, Arkansas, to James and Pearlie Mae Cole.


Earnestine resided in Saginaw for over 45 years. She retired as a Police Officer Crossing Guard after 30 years. Earnestine was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she served in the Music Ministry, and was the church accountant. Earnestine enjoyed attending church, traveling, and shopping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Earnestine will be greatly missed by family and friends.


She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Barbara Harris; son, James L. Devine; grandchildren, Jerrick Harris, Lorenzo Harris, and Jayla T. Devine; bonus grandchildren, James Allen, Lawrence, and Tisha Simmons; great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Journee, and Jelani Harris, and many more; siblings, George Cole, Joe Cole, and Ruby Lee Hayes; nieces, Regina “Cookie,” Debra, Jerrica, Sanford, and Jada Love, Deborah “Deb” Burrell, Requita Burrell, Lorsteen Miller, Barbara (Bob) Burrell, and Sherrick Jones; nephews, Jerod Love, Richard Burrell, Willie Miller, Lenard Miller, and Derrick Burrell; cousins, Thelma Ruth, Thelma Jean, and Clara Lawrence Mell; special friends, Nancy, Dorothy, Billy, Michael, Anthony, Janice, Brian, Jean, and Regina Nelson, and Margaret “Molly” Taylor.


Earnestine was preceded in death by her husband, G.T. Stinson; siblings, Lorsteen, George, Billy, Alfred Dean, Melvin, and Loreen Cole.
