Earven Adway, Jr.

April 29, 1939 — January 26, 2018

Mr. Earven Adway, Jr. passed away on Friday, January 26 2018 at his residence. Age 78 years. He was born on April 29, 1939 in Altheimer, Arkansas to Earven and Willie B. Adway.

Earven was a graduate of Altheimer High School, Class of 1959. He later moved to Chicago, Illinois and from there to Saginaw, Michigan in 1963. Earven was employed by General Motors (Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry) retiring after 33 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 668, Earven was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church since 1968, and he sang with the Male Chorus for thirty-nine years, remaining faithful at Tabernacle until his passing. Earven’s hobbies were fishing, bowling and playing cards. He will be missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Cornelia Manuel-Adway, Saginaw, Michigan; a blended family of six chidren, Martha (Cleveland) Ducre, Saginaw, Michigan, Lisa Adway English, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Earven Dwayne Adway, Los Angeles, California, Winford Manuel, Saginaw, Michigan, Tenesha (Calvin) Shepherd-Artis, Flint, Michigan, and Marcus Ferris, Saginaw, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren, Courtney Burton, Kendyl Washington, Alexus and Daelena Adway, Asia and Pacco Ducre, Lakeva Price, Kitya Shepherd-Artis, Alena Dolson-Shepherd, Zachary and Jordan Miller, Jemarkus Anderson, Dequavious Thomas, Brooklyn and Kaitlyn Manuel; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Burton and Bryce Bennett; seven brothers, Robert (Felecia) Adway, James Henry Adway, Saginaw, Michigan, Curtis, Willie, Barry and Otis Adway, Altheimer, Arkansas, Ricky Adway, Chicago, Illinois; four sisters, Bobbie Freeman, Chicago, Illinois, Loistine Johnson, Jerlene (Porter) Taylor, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Mary Adway, Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Adway was preceded in death by his parents, Earven Sr. and Willie B. Adway, and one sister, Madis Inez Adway.

The family extends special thanks to everyone for the kindness shown during our bereavement.
