Ebony Rochelle Darby

Ms. Ebony Rochelle Darby was born on July 16, 1975 in Saginaw, Michigan to James B. Jones and Cheryl Ann Darby. She passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Age 45 years.

Ebony was educated in the Saginaw Public Schools. She was employed by Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth, Michigan, Wendy’s in Detroit, Michigan, and she was a hairstylist for over 25 years. Ebony’s hobbies included Bingo, listening to music and shopping. She was a very funny, outspoken, smart and lovable person who loved to eat. Ebony will be missed by family and friends.

She leaves to cherish loving memories one daughter, Quanterria S. Darby; one son, Da’Natus De’Shon Darby; grandchildren, Da’Natus De’Shon Darby, Jr. and Paris’s Tremese Darby; her parents, James B. Jones and Cheryl Ann Darby; stepfather, Claude L. Moore, Jr.; grandmother, Marjorie P. Noel; two sisters, Claudia Darby, Nikia (Fred) Braddock-Johnson; four brothers, James Gunn, Torrance “Toe” Darby, Eric (Carolyn) Gunn, Jimmy Guevara-Jones; nieces, Shardai S., Brittany D., Iresha B., Sarina B., Jarmeisha F., Evelena D., and Breanna S.; nephews, Courtney S., Corteizz D., Santana D., Taariq D., Qua S., D. Blakes, Viontre P., and Eric Brooks; three aunts, Mattie Darby, Mattie Curshman and Lucille Simpson; uncles, Michael Noel, Robert Noel, Oscar Darby and Charlie Darby; cousins, Camisha Simpson, John Vincent Jones, Kevin Jones, Daniel Darby and Zoe Juana Simpson; sister-in-law, Carolyn Gunn, brother-in-law, Dorian Jones; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Eric (Marty) Brooks (nephew), Denitra Harper, Demetria Jackson, Valena Palmore and Ronnie Jones.

Ebony was preceded in death by her son, Marcell De’Andre Darby, nephew, James Smothers, brothers, Michael Guevara-Jones and Matthews Oliver, aunt, Lorene Noel, great-grandmother, Annie Simpson, and uncle, Johnnie Simpson.
