Eddie L. Vaden (Lansing)

Mr. Eddie Lee “Big E” Vaden passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 at McLaren Greater Lansing in Lansing, Michigan. Age 86 years. He was born in Quitman, Mississippi, the son of Pearl White and William Vaden on July 29, 1934.

Eddie was a certified engineer who worked for the City of Lansing. After many years of service, Eddie retired and became a crossing guard for the Lansing School District. He served in that position for 21 years. Eddie, “Big E” to his family, loved spending time with family, sharing his cooking skills at family gatherings. He also loved to dance, party, and have fun!

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mildred E. Vanden; son, Charles Raymond Vaden, Dallas, Texas; stepchildren, Lavon, Rondrell and Myshere; grandchildren, Carneta, Tasha, Rochell, Aliesha and Tremaine; many great-grandchildren; sister, Georgia Hamilton; brother, John Lockhart; many nieces, nephews; cousins including special cousin, Jerrell Richardson; 3 sisters-in-law, Virginia, Claudette and Mona; 2 brothers-in-law, Herbert Taylor and Lordell Taylor; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Willie Bee, Ora Mae, Augusta, Alice; and Panola; brother, Will Lockhart and stepdaughter, Sonya.
