Eddie Shepherd

June 13, 1950 — April 15, 2021

Mr. Eddie Shepherd passed away on Thursday, April15, 2021, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. Age 71 years. He was born on June 13,1950 in Cary, Mississippi to Lucille Carter Shepherd and Willis Williams.

Mr. Shepherd was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin. Eddie accepted Christ at an early age at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cary, Mississippi. He played baseball for Cary from 1962 -1965. Eddie enjoyed playing cards, listening to “old school’ music, especially Green Onions. He was employed as a truck driver for many years. He was a horse trainer, farmer, and carpenter. Eddie also enjoyed fishing, drinking his Bush, and talking smack. We would laugh so loud that we would cry. Eddie was known for saying “one thing for certain, and two things for sure. I don’t bother nobody and don’t want nobody to bother me.” He will truly be missed by friends and family who loved him.

He leaves to cherish loving memories one daughter, Tenesha Shepherd- (Keith) Artis; two sons, Winford Manuel and Robert Bonner; twelve grandchildren, Ki’Tya Shepherd, DeQuarius Thomas, Zacharie Miller, Jamarcus Scott, Jordan Miller, Brooklyn Polkavich, Anthony Carrol, Shaquita Carrol, Ramond Bonner, and Robert Bonner, Jr.; three brothers, Leroy (Mildred) Shepherd, Detroit, Michigan, Eugene Williams, and Willie Williams, Jr., both of Cary, Mississippi; many nieces, nephews and cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Jr. Clayton, Leon Gilliam, Tute, Russell and Manual Jefferies, James Johnson, D.W. Johnson, Janie Johnson, and Linda Tate.

Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Carter-Shepherd, father, Willis Williams, sister, Lucille Carter-Frazier, niece, Cora Mae Frazier, nephew, Ronell Frazier, and friends, Cowboy and Theotis.

The family would like to express special thanks to his nieces, Mary Ann Carter, for her care and love for him, Geraldine Frazier, Ivan E. Phillips, and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
