Edmond Taylor

October 17, 1931 — March 13, 2013

God saw he was getting tired so He put His loving arms around him and whispered come to me my child. Mr. Edmond Taylor Sr. was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 81 years. He was born October 17, 1931 in Brownsville, Tennessee to J.W. and Leora Taylor Sr.
Edmond professed his walk with Christ at an early age where he was a member of Prospect C.M.E. Church of Brownsville, Tennessee. He graduated from Carver High School in April 1951. After graduation he was inducted into the United States Army on October 12, 1951. Upon his discharge from the service he relocated to Saginaw, Michigan where he began his employment with Saginaw Steering Gear as a journeyman truck repairman. He was a member of UAW Local 699. Edmond also enjoyed playing fast pitch softball. His presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years, Earline Taylor; two daughters, Jacqueline (Robert) Scott, Aiken, South Carolina, Alvis (Roy) Thompson, three sons, Edmond (Cynthia), Charles Keith and Vince Eric Taylor, all of Saginaw, Michigan; one special daughter-in-law, Michelle Denise Taylor; grandchildren, Amber (Demetrius) McKeever, Desmond (Annette) Scott of Aiken, South Carolina, Jarvis (Michelle) Scott of Defiance, Ohio, Lakendra Butler, Richmond, Virginia, Tanuel Gaskew, Marcus Butler, Damion and Deon Taylor, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Lisa (Dell) Snyder, Columbus, Ohio, Teahonna (Eddie) Mayo, Killeen, Texas, Charles Jr. and Kayla Taylor, both of Flint, Michigan, Courtney (Jerry) Carter, Chanell Trudell, Byonka and Erica Taylor, all of Saginaw, Michigan; thirty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Ruth (JT) Hall of Brownsville, Tennessee; two brothers, David (Julie) and Samuel Taylor, both of Brownsville, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and cousins including one special cousin, Reodoa Houston; many other relatives and friends including a special friend, Joseph Norris.
Edmond was preceded in death by one son, Bruce Edward Taylor, parents, J.W. and Leora Taylor Sr., one brother, J.W. Taylor Jr., two sisters, Christine Taylor and Ada Hicks, mother and father-in-law, Ed and Lillie Pirtle.
