Edward Brannon 'Lil Dad'

November 14, 1943 — November 8, 2015

Beloved father, grandfather, uncle and brother was granted his wings on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. Edward, better known as Lil Dad, was 71 years old, born November 14, 1943 to the late Eugene Henderson and Margaret Brannon in Saginaw, Michigan.
Edward accepted Christ at a young age and was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church. Lil Dad attended Saginaw Public Schools, and graduated with an Associate in Arts degree from Delta College in 1983. Edward served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1967. During his military service Edward received commendations which include marksmans badge, carbine and experts badge and rifle. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing cards with his friends. Lil Dad also enjoyed football, boxing with Brannon and riding around with his nephew, Tracy.
Edward leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Edward (Susan) Hardy, Tunell and Vincent Simpson; grandchildren, Tiera, Edward, Jr., Brannon, Sydney, Kourtney, NaSheena (Ronnie), Tivia, Stephoun and Tanza; nine great-grandchildren, nephew, Tracy Williams; nieces, Deiadra Brookins and Nell Ann Blair; five great nieces and nephews; brother, Dr. Eugene (Sherry) Henderson, Jr.; sisters, Barbara (Edward) Holmes, Florence (Ernest) Harris, Charlotte Henderson; brother-in-law, Bill Jones; aunt, Charlene Taylor; goddaughter, Deiadra Liddell-Harlan; Benita Smith, best friends and companions, Edward Liddell, Elaine Simpson, Frank McDaniels and Rose Martin; many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Brannon was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Jones.
The family would like to express special thanks to Select Specialty Hospital, Rev. Dr. Marvin T. and First Lady Sister Omie Smith and the entire Mt. Olive Church family.
