Edward Marshall

February 7, 1932 — December 9, 2018

Mr. Edward Marshall went home to get his rest on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Leland, Mississippi on February 7, 1932 to Louis and Viola Marshall.

Edward was Mississippi born and raised. He lived in the south until he moved to Muncie, Indiana. After living in Muncie for several years, he relocated to Saginaw, Michigan and became employed with the General Motors Corporation Grey Iron Foundry. He worked there for eighteen years until his retirement.

After coming to Michigan, Edward became a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church and served as the Head Usher until his health began to fail him. He loved listening to gospel music, having breakfast, gardening, watching WWE Wrestling, spending time with loved ones and to keep it moving. In his words, “Sit down for what? I have the rest of eternity to lay down!”

Edward loved his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather. If you needed his support in ANY way, near or far, he was on his way. But if he had to cross a bridge to get to you, you better have a back-up plan.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Viola Marshall; son, Melvin Marshall; brothers, Louis Jr., Reuben and Howard Marshall; stepson, Anthony Adams.

He leaves to cherish his legacy, life and memories, his wife of thirty-two years, June Marshall; three sons, Edward Marshall, Jr., Terry Marshall, Saginaw, Michigan, Christopher (Jesse) Marshall, Columbus, Ohio; five daughters, Doris Marshall, Detroit, Michigan, Sheena Marshall, Columbus, Ohio, KaTina (Samantha) Thornton, Dana Point, California, Margaretta (Rodney) Merrill, Virginia, Mariam Marshall, England; six stepchildren, Leonard, Donna, Teresa, Kay, Bessie, Gregory; Edward leaves a lifetime of love with all of his beautiful grandchildren who adored him; many memories to be shared with his great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a very special friend, Betty Adams.
