Edward Morgan

May 25, 1947 — July 8, 2015

Mr. Edward Gene Morgan began his lifes journey on May 25, 1947 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the son of Elbert and Janie Morgan. He gained his Heavenly wings and entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the age of 68 years.
Edward resided in Saginaw, Michigan most of his life. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church. Edward was employed with the Bridgeport School District. He enjoyed basketball and fishing. Edward loved his family dearly. He never met a stranger and talked to any and everybody. He always had a saying, As-Salamu Alaykum which means Peace be with you. Now Edward is at peace and his presence will be greatly missed.
He leaves to celebrate his legacy his devoted wife, Dorothy Morgan; one daughter, Edie (Harry Taylor); two sons, Brian (Shayla) Morgan and Everett Morgan; grandchildren, Sade Morgan, Mercedes Lewis, Jetta Morgan, Brian Morgan Jr. and Cameron Morgan; great-grandchildren, Christina, Nia, Robin and Diego Garcia, and AMyrah Mitchell; his loving mother, Janie Morgan; one niece, Angel Dennis of Newark, New Jersey; one nephew, Alterick (Sherry) Morgan of Newark, New Jersey; both of Kinston, North Carolina; two uncles, James and Frank Leath of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a host of cousins in the Florida area; two sisters-in-law, Marie (John) Davis of Bay City, Michigan and Janice (Carlton) Staples of Merrillville, Indiana; three brothers-in-law, David, Andre and James Coleman of Bay City, Michigan; many other relatives and friends including a special cousin, George Leath.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Morgan, grandparents, Tom and Relina Morgan, one sister, Rosemary Morgan; two aunts, Janie Browns and Malylois Staten, father-in-law, David Coleman, mother-in-law, Marcell Coleman; and three sisters-in-law, Pearl Hill, Rea'Nalda Conrad and Georgia Lewis.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered kind words, condolences and prayers.
