Elder Kerry Williams

March 26, 1963 — October 2, 2019

Elder Kerry Allen Williams, Sr. was born March 26, 1963 along with his twin brother Kenneth Andre Williams, in Louisville, Kentucky to Reverend Jodie and Patricia (Helm) Williams. On October 2, 2019, the Lord whispered into his ear “You have fought the good fight. You have finished your race. You have kept the faith. Well done my good and faithful servant. Come unto me and receive your rest.” Elder Williams then made his peaceful transition into his eternal resting place at age 56 years.

He was educated in Saginaw Public Schools, graduating from Saginaw High School, “Class of 1981.” He later attended Delta College and Baker College in Flint, Michigan. After serving in the United States Army, Elder Williams worked at several local jobs including STARS as a bus driver and as an EMT with Mobile Medical Response until his health declined.

Elder Williams accepted Christ at an early age at True Vine Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Corley, Sr. He answered the call to preach and was ordained as a minister at Greater Ephesians COGIC under Superintendent Harold Jones. He later united with Gideon Christ Community Church under Pastor Chet Atkins. There he served as the head elder of the church, instructor for Christian Education and on the praise team. He also served in the Broadcast Radio Ministry with Rev. Rob Williams.

Elder Williams was a family man who loved his family unconditionally. He loved fishing, bowling and spending time with his family, friends and the people of God. He enjoyed singing, teaching and ministering to others. He was a true servant of God, never asking for anything in return. Our beloved father, grandfather, son, brother and friend has been called from labor to rest and he will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Elder Williams was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ann Williams; sons, Michael, Joshua and Christopher; grandparents, Willie and Rubie Williams, William and Mattie Helm; aunts, Joyce Lowe, Rubie Collins, Bessie Myles; uncles, Willie Williams, William Jr., Frederick and Robert Helm.
