Elder Richard A. Todd (Jackson)

December 31, 1954 — November 1, 2018

Richard Alvin Todd, Jr. “Ricky” was born on December 31, 1954 to Richard Alvin and Delores Olivia Todd in Jackson, Michigan. He slipped away from his earthly body on Thursday, November 1, 2018 and is now with our Heavenly Father.

Ricky affectionately known as “The Street Pastor” in Jackson, was saved from the street life himself and never forgot where God brought him from; therefore, he always ministered to the less fortunate; forgotten; downtrodden and disregarded individuals. He was never afraid to give a word of life to anyone rather you received it or not. He was one who preached under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. It didn’t matter if the church was very small or large; he came with the same conviction, anointing and message that Jesus Saves. He began many prayer services mostly early morning prayers as he was a praying man. He once started a family phone prayer where we could all just call in and pray together.

Ricky was also an old school organist. He could play those old hymns and songs under the anointing. He played for many churches, choirs, groups and individuals. He also played for many weddings and funerals often without payment. He would play for preachers and would hear a song from heaven after the word was preached that complemented the word in the house.

Ricky was a great auto mechanic. You could call him on the phone and tell him what sound your car was making and he would tell you what part you needed and where to go get it. He would also say “Don’t let them sell you anything else” There were times he would call the auto store before you arrived to tell them you were coming. He just wanted to make sure that you were on the road safe.

Ricky would make you laugh every time he entered a room. He would make sure that whatever you were drinking you would spit it out of your mouth with laughter. He would make the saddest heart smile.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories; mother, Delores O. Todd of Columbia, Tennesse; ten (10) children, daughters, Antoinia Todd & Ashley Ramsey of Lansing, Michigan, Cashonta Cosey & NaTyna Todd-Morgan of Columbia, South Carolina, Olivia Todd-Caston, Andrea and Cha’Ree Collins all of Jackson, Michigan; sons, Deon Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia, Richard Antwan (Shannon) Todd of Lansing, Michigan and Tonea (Sara) Hannah of Kalamazoo, Michigan; brothers, Michael N. Todd (whom was also his best friend), Anthony Todd, both of Alexandria, Tennessee, Shepherd Donald Ray (LaVella) Todd of Lansing, Michigan; sisters, Donna Renee (Pastor Bennie) Caston of Columbia, Tennessee, Cynthia Todd and Yvette (Tony) Morgan of Lansing, Michigan; his Special Lady Renee Robertson of Lansing, Michigan; his Special Aunt Theresa Parker; special friends, Dennis “Bird” Scott, Barry Carter, Ronnie Martin and Keith Glaspsie, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
