Eldon Liggon (Lansing)

Mr. Eldon Liggon passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 70 years. Eldon was born November 13, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to parents Katie Chandler and Clarence Liggon Sr.

Eldon had the honor of being a financial guru for organizations such as Delta Dental, State of Michigan, and most recently as the executive Director of the Greater Lansing African American Health Institute. At GLAAHI, Eldon was able to champion and spearhead many projects that provided support to the City of Lansing, and all of Lansing’s Tri-Counties. In addition to local support, Eldon was able to work with many state representatives to create several resources for 1000’s of individuals who were in need. After his day was completed, Eldon spent his free time assisting many churches in the region with their ministries along with being a bishop for the Anchor of Love Ministries. His community development career ended in 2017, when he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and dealt with many health issues. In February of 2025 he suffered a catastrophic brain bleed stroke and fought a good fight but was unable to recover.

Eldon leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Mishae Liggons; son, Ty (Alicia) Liggons; grandchildren, Sofia and Cecelia Liggons; brothers, Clarence, Irvin and Eric Liggons; and grandpup, Milo.
