Eleanor Hodges

Mrs. Eleanor Davis Hodges passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Covenant Healthcare Cooper. Age 74 years. She was born on April 11, 1948, in Bay City, Michigan, to Jerry and Agnes Davis.


Eleanor was a resident of Montrose, Michigan. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and she also attended Community of Christ. Eleanor was a graduate of Chesaning Union High School, Class of 1968. She was employed at Friends Who Care (providing home health care) for 10 years. Eleanor enjoyed doing puzzles, reading the Bible, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was always willing to give her last and help anyone in need. Eleanor will be greatly missed by family and friends.


She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Stanley Hodges; daughter, Sherry Agnes Davis; sister, Debra Austin; uncle, Ching Wang; many cousins including Russell Gordon, Johnny, Alvin, Juanita, Faye, Vivian, Maurice, Mandwell, Lynn, Anne, Damon and Anthony Shackleford; Sherry Wolfe, and Alma Waters; sister-in-law, Dale Davis; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Amanda Peters, Jackie and Daniel Harder, Cynthia Perkins, Danny Johnson and Parham family, Nancy Barnum, Sarah, Kim, Allura, and Sam Miguel, Brenda Johnson, Donna Burke, Nicole Harvey, Linda Potts, Orville Carter, Alisha and Jason Beasley, and the Lutze family.


Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Agnes Davis; father, William Davis; brother, William E. Davis Jr.; aunts, Alma Shackelford, Gladys Wang, and Mary F. Wolfe; uncle, Jehu Shackleford; father and mother-in-law, Howard, and Jean Hodges; cousins, Calvin, and Zernual Shackelford; sisters-in-law, Sherry Bocek, and Sue Thompson.


The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Covenant HealthCare Cooper, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and Community of Christ, and Junita Shackelford.
