Elena Kaye Shorty (Lansing)

Elena Kaye Shorty passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 69 years. She was born March 14, 1954, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The daughter of Joan and James Campbell.

Elena lived in Lansing, Michigan. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her daughter and granddaughter. She always wanted a granddaughter and loved watching her play and grow. She was an amazing cook and would love to make big family dinners and bake cookies. She loved animals and loved to spoil them. She almost always had a cat or dog somewhere close by, waiting for pets. She would often tell stories about her favorite cat, Peaches. She was proud of her civil service, and always had a smile on her face when reflecting on her time working for the State of Michigan.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Angelita; granddaughter, Arya; sisters, Lynn and Amanda; brother, Scott; nieces, Melinda, Darcy, Rachel, Katherine, Allison, and Jill; and uncle, Kenneth.

She was preceded in death by her son, David James; parents, Joan and James Campbell; and brother, Michael.
