Elizabeth Acklen

On Monday, September 13, 2021, Mrs. Elizabeth Acklen departed her earthly home and gained her golden wings. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 68 years. Elizabeth was born June 9th, 1953, in Caruthersville, Missouri to Frank Clement and Lillian Thomas. She accepted Christ at an early age. Elizabeth was a faithful member of Joshua’s Way Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Lerone Clement.

Elizabeth was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Willie Acklen, in 1986, and they were married 35 years. She loved spending time traveling, fellowshipping with family and friends, attending church services, being a prayer warrior, reading her Bible and listening to gospel music. Elizabeth was also famous for her homemade casserole dish. She would humbly help anyone in need. Elizabeth had a loving and infectious smile and her personality made everyone around her feel loved. Her spirt was contagious.

Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Willie Acklen; three daughters, Joyce Williams, Tracy(Vance) Martin, Saginaw, Michigan, Felicia Williams, Toledo, Ohio; four sons, August Williams, Maurice Williams, Branden (Deloria) Acklen, Lance (Ursula) Acklen, all of Saginaw, Michigan; thirty-one grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, nine siblings, Lola Green, Frank Clement, Joe Holmes, Terry Holmes, Deborah Holmes, Betty Holmes, Barbara (Aaron) Mitchell; Deidre (Roman) Johnson; Jennifer (Joe) Chappins, Saginaw Michigan; special grandchildren, Vance Martin, Jr., VanQreisha Martin, Christopher Everett, Christian Everett, T’Niya Acklen, Quin’Nya Acklen; Branden Acklen, Jr; aunt and uncle, Dorothy (John) Moore; nieces, Victoria Scarborough, Keisha Burton, Saginaw, Michigan, cousin, Bridget (Craig) West, Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Barbara Acklen; many other relatives and friends.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lillian (Jake) Holmes, brother, Jerome Clement, sisters, Diane Burton, Annie Smith, grandsons, Vance Martin, III, Maurice Williams, and nephew, Tyrone Clement.
