Elizabeth Smith was born April 10, 1948 in Union Springs, Alabama to James Thomas and Stanley Mae Murry. While she will be forever in our hearts, Elizabeth peacefully passed on home on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
Elizabeth, known as "Jackie", was looked upon as the mother of the whole neighborhood and "the candy lady". She loved singing, cooking and her dexterity was amazing. She enjoyed giving back to her community and being involved with youth of all ages. She was adored by many because of her compassion, selflessness, and the ability to willfully give. Jackie gave wisdom, courage, knowledge and lessons. She was a powerhouse of pure love and added a graceful quality to this world that can never be replaced.
Jackie was preceded in death by her daughter Marlene Hale; father, James Thomas Murry; uncle, James Reynolds; aunts, Minnie Elder, Mary Ruth Calhoun and Sarah Moore.
She leaves to celebrate her life seven daughters, Lisa Bryant, Angela Mitchell, Deborah (Michael) Copes, Tracie (Louis) Campbell, Nikeba Woods, Tasha Smith, Sylvia Brant; two sons, Leroy Davis, Jr., Marquavis (Lakesha) Murry; loving mother, Stanley Mae Murry; 29 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Charles (Michelle),Stanley, Sheldon, Aron and Larry Murry; two sisters, Delphine and Carol Murry; special aunts, Patsy Mae Johnson, Lucy Smith and Joann Simpson; godchildren, Charlotte Hilliard, Harvey Davis, Deparis Tinsley, Jamar Bates, Rosalind Lowery, Felicia Brown; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
