Elmer Ellsworth

Mr. Elmer Ellsworth passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Detroit Receiving Hospital. Age 67 years. He was born July 26, 1946 in Eudora, Arkansas to Elmer Sr. and Sylvia Ellsworth.
Elmer graduated from East High School in Eudora, Arkansas in 1964 and went on to attend AM & N College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was a faithful member of the King James Lodge #109 Order of Masons. Elmer rededicated his life to Christ at an early age in Eudora, Arkansas. He started a new chapter in his life when he arrived in Saginaw, Michigan. Elmer became a faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church in 1966. He served as vice-chair of the Trustee Board, Multimedia Ministry leader, Chief Usher and Vice-Chairman of the Financial Management Team. Elmer was employed at General Motors Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry and was a member of UAW Local 668. He retired after 44 years of faithful service. In his leisure time he loved to barbeque, play cards and go fishing. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 40 years, Bertha Ellsworth; five sons, Edward Ellsworth of Nashville, Tennessee, George (Valencia) Cavanaugh Jr. of Austin, Texas, Victor Ellsworth of Dumas, Arkansas, Anthony (Carolyn) Baber and Ricky (Shirley) Baber, both of Saginaw, Michigan; one sister, Mary (David) Anderson St. Louis Missouri; one aunt, Mabel Holloway; one niece, Loraine (Derwood) Jennings of St. Louis, Missouri; two nephews, David (Lisa) Anderson Jr. and LaRon Steward both of St. Louis Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three special cousins, Judy Mayes of Nashville, Tennessee, Terri Holloway of Saginaw, Michigan, Todd (Nolana) Holloway of Minneapolis, Minnesota; many other relatives and friends.
Elmer was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Williams; stepfather, Leroy Williams; grandmother, Mary Walker; sister, Nancy Steward; uncle, Burton Holloway; cousin, Burton Holloway Jr.; mother-in-law, Alberta Babers.
