Mr. Elmore Hooker passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at Healthsource Saginaw. Age 84 years. He was born March 28, 1926 in Sanford, North Carolina to Sawyer and Bessie Hooker.
He was a member of Greater Williams Temple COGIC. Elmore served as a military police in World War II. He was employed at Malleable Iron for 32 years where he was an inspector and committee man, local 699. He also worked at Saginaw Transit as a bus driver for 10 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening. He had a special love for carpentry.
Elmore leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dorothy Hooker; six daughters and one son, Doris Wilson, Felicia Hooker, Jenell Webb, Walter Gibson, Linda (Preston) Johnson, Saginaw, MI, Shirley Hooker, Cleveland, OH, Deloris Hooker, Atlanta, GA; twenty nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; god-sister, Margaret Walker; two god-daughters Linda Tahane, Melissa Crompton.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at St. Marys of Michigan and Covenant Healthcare Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Glen Hooker, William Lake and one grandson.
