Elsie A. Collier-McDaniels

Mrs. Elsie A. Collier-McDaniels departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the blessed age of 103 years. She was born October 22, 1921, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Charles and Lillian Hill.

Elsie was employed at U.S. Graphite. She retired after many years of faithful service. In 1968, she married William (Bill) McDaniels. Elsie enjoyed ushering, being a Steward, bowling, fishing, and visiting the sick. She cared for Mr. & Mrs. Emily and Billy Popielarz for 18 years; they were very special to her. Elsie was a dedicated member of The New Christ Community Church for over 80 years. Her presence will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves to celebrate her legacy, one son, Mr. & Mrs. James Edward (Yoneda) Collier of Saginaw, Michigan; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Katie Mills; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Charlene and George Porter, and Joyce Jones.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, William McDaniels; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles and Lillian Hill; first husband, Samuel G. Collier; three sons, William, Paul, and Samuel Collier; one daughter, Helen Louise Collier; one grandson, Samuel Collier, Jr.; one brother, Charles Hill; special friend and neighbor, Eddie V. Jones, and her goddaughter, Pastor Leona Glenn.
