Emma J. Glover (Lansing)

September 29, 1946 — January 27, 2024

Eldress Emma J. Glover was born in Greenwood, Mississippi on Sunday, September 29, 1946, to Pink and Lottie Mae Hoskins, the third of twelve children. At the age of 77 years old, she transitioned into her heavenly rest on Saturday, January 27, 2024, with her family by her side.


Eldress Emma Glover attended Quitman County High School in Marks, Mississippi and attended Lansing Community College studying basic courses. Eldress Emma retired from General Motors and worked at the Service Parts Operation for 32 years, where she ministered to anyone who crossed her path. She was also employed at Michigan State University for eight years in the Microbiology Lab. She married Mack Glover on September 16, 1965, and from this union came four children: Julius, Otis, Antonio and Angel. They were married for 58 years. Eldress Emma loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly, and was so proud of all their accomplishments.


She accepted the Lord at a young age and later attended Sax Chapel. She joined Pentecostal Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder Dexter DeMyers. Eldress Emma was a faithful member of Pentecostal Church of God in Christ. She served in numerous capacities: Sunday School teacher, Youth Leader, Church Secretary, President of YPWW, just to name a few. She preached the gospel all over Michigan and Illinois. In 1965, she started the jail ministry.


Eldress Emma attended a revival and heard the late Elder Larry M. Trice Sr. preach like only he could. At that time, Pentecostal was looking for someone to come and assist Elder Dexter DeMyers due to his declining health. Eldress Emma voted for Elder Larry M. Trice, Sr. to be the new Pastor of Pentecostal Church of God in Christ.


Eldress Emma lived a life of praise and worship. She was an intercessor who loved winning souls, seeking, and obeying the Lord. She was a giver and a caregiver to many.


She had many hobbies throughout her lifetime. One of those was cooking. She was known for her lemon and chocolate cake. She loved decorating, sewing, making outfits for herself and others. Eldress Emma was known for her stylish suits, hats, shoes, and purses.


She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Mack Glover; three children, Otis Glover, Antonio (Kimberly) Glover, Angel (Phillip) Ragland, all of Lansing, Michigan; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; sisters, Lela (Kermit) Stanton and Loretta (Lem) Seaton both of Shelby, Mississippi, Amanda Ushery and Helen Hoskins, both of Lansing, Michigan; brothers, Robert (Adrienne) Hoskins and Lewis (Gloria) Hoskins, both of Lansing, Michigan; brother-in-law, Luke Glover of Lansing, Michigan; sister-in-law, Rose Mae Riley of Mark, Mississippi, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Goddaughter, Michelle Trice.


She was proceeded in death by her son, Julius Mack Arthur Glover Jr.; parents, Pink and Lottie Mae Hoskins; brothers, Pinkie Hoskins, James Hoskins, and Eddie Hoskins, sisters; Mary Ann Cain and Mary Alice Hoskins.
