Mr. Eric Thomas passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 50 years. Eric was born July 11, 1972, in Kankakee, Illinois, to Edward and Vida Mae Thomas.
Eric was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was a graduate of Saginaw High School. Eric was very sociable and energetic, and he loved to dance. He enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, attending church regularly, and most of all talking to people about God. Eric will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Heather Jones; one grandchild, Layla Jones; father, Edward “Jimmy” Thomas; eight sisters, Gwendolyn Gilyard, Debbie, Sheila, Venita, Freda, and Tvwan Thomas, Renee Moore, and Sheila Haywood; two brothers, Venus “Sondray” Thomas, and Nelawn Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; seven aunts, Deritha, Susie, Dorothy, Georgia, Essie, Peggy, and Geraldine; three uncles, Reverend Joseph Jones, “Uncle Joe,” George Jones, known for spreading his love, and Sam Patterson; one brother-in-law, Eligha Gilyard, and a very special friend for over 30 years, Tommy.
Eric was preceded in death by his mother, Vida Mae Thomas; brother, Edward Thomas Sr.; sister, Vernice Thomas; brother, Edward Thomas, Jr.; grandparents, Rosalee Thomas, Annetta Williams; Johnny Jones and Edward Thomas Sr.; uncle, Pledge Thomas, and nephew, James Cecil Pearson.
