A Time to be Born


Ernestine Bothuel-Walker was born Wednesday, May 28, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Reverend Ernest and Flora Thomas-Bothuel.


A Time to Love


She married the love of her life, Clarence H. Walker, on December 25, 1959. To this blessed union they had four children: Reginald, Carolle, Cheryl and Darryl Walker. Her legacy of love continues through her 7 grandchildren, Nicole, Christopher, Ernest, Ambre’, Reginald Jr, Dominique, and Thomas Walker; 15 great-grandchildren including Imani and Ahmad in whose life she played an integral part, and 1 great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews including Marvin Bothuel II; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Walker and Dewey Walker, Los Angeles, CA, Charles (Jackie), Maricopa, AZ, Lloyd Walker, Vacaville, CA, Ruth Harris, Portland, Oregon, Roberta Duncan, Harbor City, CA, and Flora Cruz, Jacksonville, FL; many cousins including Albert (Kay) Thomas, North Augusta SC, Sarah Holbrook, Denise Kirkland, Carolyn (Chuck) Griffin, all of Jacksonville, FL, Sheldon Thomas, Kenneth (Shirley) Ferrell, Andrea (Jackie) Beach, Bruce (Robin) Bothuel, April Bothuel, Emma Tillman, Edward and Marty Burke, and Linda Greer; special friends, Katie and Howard McFadden, Shirley Culpepper, Linda and Doug Lane, Cora Macon and Pearl McGee.


A Time to Serve


She was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and served as the secretary of the Mission Department. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School Class of 1959. Upon her husband’s death in 1968, she returned to Saginaw, MI. With perseverance she continued her education and graduated from Delta College and Michigan State University. She retired from the State of Michigan Department of Human Services.


A Time to Die


Ernestine departed this earthly home for her home in Heaven on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, after a short battle with cancer at the blessed age of 81years.


She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Walker, her mother Flora Thomas Bothuel and her father Reverend Ernest and stepmother, Doris Bothuel and her brother, Marvin Bothuel.


A Time to Appreciate
