Ernestine Ruffin

October 25, 1945 — April 14, 2016

Mrs. Ernestine Ruffin went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at her residence at the age of 70 years. She was born October 25, 1945 in Liberty, Mississippi to Ernest and Robbie Welch.
Ernestine gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Financial Secretary under leadership of Pastor Delwin C. Tatum, Sr. Ernestine was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, other family and friends. She was known in Saginaw for being one of the best seamstresses you could find. She could make anything from prom dresses to wedding dresses. Mrs. Ruffin was also known for slapping her husband upside his head, and he loved every minute. Ernestines humor will be remembered by many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Cecil E. Ruffin; mother, Robbie Overstreet; one son and three daughters, Tyrone (Shirley) Welch, Trena (Wayne) King, Beverly Payne (Michael) Simpson, Felicia A. Mushatt; twelve grandchildren, Andre Smith, Latoya Scott, UNeeka Green, Tyrone Welch, Jr., Terrance Dennis, Starletta King, Dametrice Brodnex, Diamond and Deyanna King, Deontae Dennis, Travontae (Shelby) Payne and Devontae Payton; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Deanna Glover; two brothers, Leon Welch, and Malcome McKay; many other relatives including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law; special friends, Carrie Jackson-Zackrie, Sylvia Canada, JT and Shirley Jones.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Welch, grandparents, Lucious and Effie Flowers, three brothers, Thomas McKay, James McKay, Lawrence Welch and great grandbaby, LVantae Archer.
The family would like to express special thanks to Southern Care Hospice and Dr. Amin.
