Ervin Jones (Lansing)

Mr. Ervin Jones passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 70 years. He was born on Wednesday, April 21, 1954, in Caruthersville, Missouri to the late Fannie Jones-Young. He was the third oldest of eleven children.

Ervin graduated in 1968, from J. W. Sexton High School and attended Michigan State University for one year. He was employed with Abram’s Instruments Building machinery and later retired. He was known to his friends and family as Eazy E and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. His hobbies included mowing his grass, gardening, cooking, dancing, and bicycling. He was a provider for his family and the glue that kept the family together after his mother passed away.

Ervin leaves to cherish his memories, three sisters, Patricia Simmons, Fannie Jones, and Odessa Jones all of Lansing, Michigan; three brothers, Anthony Jones, Gilbert (DeeDee) Jones, and Otis Jones all of Lansing, Michigan; 4 nieces, 5 nephews, many great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends including special friend, Marcus Adams.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Jones-Young brothers, Jake, Willie, Calvin, and Elton Jones all of Lansing, Michigan; nephews, Richard Simmons II, Dilanjan Allen, JaQuille Wiseman, one great nephew, Devon Johnson, and special friend who recently passed, Jimmy Gorman.
