Estella Bibbs

April 14, 1929 — January 19, 2017

Ms. Estella Bibbs passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 87 years. She was born April 14, 1929 in Itta Bena, Mississippi to Henry and Ora Tolden.
Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Estella, grew up and received her education in Itta Bena, Mississippi, coming to Saginaw, Michigan in 1970. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age. Estella was a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Paul E. Broaddus. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, singing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Estellas favorite saying was Them educated fools. She was very outspoken and always right! She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory six daughters, Ollie Cox, Helen (James) Rollins, Katherine Tolden, all of Jackson, Mississippi, Mary Jackson of Largo, Florida, Gloria Bibbs and Deborah Green of Saginaw, Michigan; two sons, Walter (Sue) Bibbs and Jasper Bibbs, both of Saginaw, Michigan; many grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Lakeisha Bibbs-Hill of Northport, Alabama; many great-grandchildren; one sister, JoAnn Green of Jackson, Mississippi; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Estella was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ora Tolden; six sisters, Jimmie Laury, Shavanna Jones, Rodella Gray, Rosa Lee Coleman, Louise Bank, and Willmer Tolden; one brother, Charlie Tolden; one son, Lendell Bibbs; one daughter, Barbara Perkins; two grandsons, Jeremy Tolden and Laquavis Cooper; and her best friend, Julie King.
The family would like to express special thanks to the Covenant Healthcare Cooper staff and Luther Manor Nursing Home for their care and support. A special thanks goes out to grandson, Jonathan Payns, for always going to visit her and seeing about her well-being.
