Ethel Bibbs passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center. Age 80 years. She was born June 19, 1933 in Sunflower, Mississippi to Mary and George Mitchell.
Ethel was a homemaker who loved and cared for her family. She loved cooking and spending time with her loved ones, especially her grand-daughter. Ethel enjoyed talking on the phone with her sisters. In the springtime, you would always find her tending to her flowers. She loved Scooby-Doo and Kid Rock. Her presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Ann (John) Pritchett and Daisy (John) Ward, both of Winona, Mississippi, Jean Russell of Saginaw, Michigan; two sons, Larry (Sabrina) Russell and Walter Bibbs, both of Saginaw, Michigan; one stepson, John Bibbs Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri; two godchildren, Marilyn Johnston and Susan Perkins, both of Winona, Mississippi; eleven grandchildren including her very special grand-daughter, Tanika Russell Toosie, Lanita Russell, Randy Harris, Terrance Russell, Larry Russell Jr., Karien Russell, Shawntae Weeks, Tyronda Bibbs, LaKita Sanders, Roeshon Brown and Undrae Bibbs; nine great-grandchildren, Shay Whittington, DeQuarius Watkins, Paradice Russell, Charles Bell III, Canada Bell, Jalen Bell, Marcus Conway Jr., Iviunce Ducre and Inari Jackson; two sisters, Mattie Lee Davis and Josie Mae Lee; four nieces including a very special niece, Dortha (James) Hearn, Ethel (Charles) Johnson, Christine (Douglas) Brown and Minnie (Lee) Chamberland of Tucsan, Arizona; two nephews, Eddie (Pat) Davis and John Davis; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Kathy Lease, Walter Johnston and Mrs. Joy Little.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, John Bibbs, parents, Mary and George Mitchell, one son, Joseph Russell III, one brother, Sam Mitchell, one sister, Daisy Pritchett, three nephews, Jerrell and Willie Davis, Frankie Moore Jr., one daughter-in-law, Yvette Russell.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dortha Hearn and Tanika Russell for all their care, compassion and concern of our loved one. An extra special thanks to everyone who offered prayers, condolences and kind words given to our family during our time of bereavement.
