Mrs. Ethel Martha Patton passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at her residence. Age 92 years. She was born April 26, 1919 in Saginaw, Michigan to Friday and Minnie Hall.
She met and married Willie Patton January 3, 1937. Together, they started a family on 3rd street raising 6 children, later moving to Buena Vista Township. Ethel worked for the Garber family before moving on to Scotts 5 & 10. After retirement, Ethel cared for her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for the horse races. In her final days, she had two wishes: to reach her 92nd birthday and to attend the Kentucky Derby. Although she never made it to the Kentucky Derby, she did celebrate her 92nd birthday, living her life to the fullest.

Patton-Nelson, Robert Patton Jr., David Patton, Michael Logan, Victor Logan, Joshua Patton, Anisa Taylor, Willie Patton II, Latasha Patton, Elijah Patton, Minnie Patton, Michael Patton; 23 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; nieces, Shirley White, Adaline Thompson; nephew, Jerry White; other relatives and friends including special friends, Opal Coleman, Marie Beasley and Phyliss Jackson.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Patton Sr.; granddaughter, Debbie Boose; parents, Friday and Minnie Hall, grandparents, William and Ellen DeGroat; sister, Helen Jackson-White; brother Jimmy Jackson; nieces, Opal White, Helen Gibson; nephews, Emy White, LD White, Marvin White; aunts, Martha DeGroat, Elvy Degroat, Eva Degroat, Annie Hall; uncles, Charlie DeGroat, Randel DeGroat, Mitchel DeGroat and Clay DeGroat;.
