Eugene Fox (Lansing)

Mr. Eugene Fox transitioned on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Kaiser Permanente South Medical Center in Sacramento, California after a brief illness to be with the Lord. Age 73 years old. He was born on Sunday, December 24, 1950, to Joseph Fox, Sr. and Jueary Taylor Fox, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Eugene is the youngest and only brother left of 15 siblings.

Eugene attended Tiny Tim School and graduated, where he was the smartest in his class. His father asked his sister, Geraldine to care for him and he came to Lansing, Michigan in 1999 to live with her and her late husband, Deacon Ray Potter, Jr. After arriving in Lansing, Eugene worked at the Michigan State University Kellogg Center in the kitchen for a few years. He later began a job at Peckham, Inc. Eugene was involved in many programs and many opportunities were available for him in the community. He loved to sing and on Men’s Day at New Hope Church of God in Christ, Deacon Lewis Hoskins would let him sing. Eugene’s favorite songs were “Well Done” and “Jesus Be a Fence”.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Missionary Artimease (Nehemiah) Jefferson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Evangelist Geraldine (Carlos) Potter Shields of Sacramento, California, and Ruby Fox of Las Vegas, Nevada; special nephews, Gerald and Fred Potter of Lansing, Michigan; many other nieces and nephews, to name a few, Bessie, Marie, Loretta, Minnie, June, Larry, Ethel, Bobby, Joey, Janet, Doris, Felix, Dean, Risa, Kevin, Shaunna, Greg, Linda, Steve, Sharon, Anna, Glenn, Michael, Marvin, Alvern, Ray, Wayne, Pattie, Patricia, Willie, Jr., David, Debra, C Anthony, Tolishea, Liz, Edward, Bryant, Carol, and Talina; many great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Lewis and Gloria Hoskins, Helen Hoskins, and Van King.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mamie, Loretta, Elva, Littie, Evelyn, and Mildred; brothers, Joseph Fox, Jr., Frank Edward, Morris, Jimmie, John, and O. D. Fox.
