Mr. Eugene Jackson departed this earthly life for his place in the Kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the age of 69 years. He was born January 14, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York to Rosielee and Henry Jackson.
Eugene joined Joyce Youngblood in holy matrimony on May 8, 1989. She survives him. He was a supervisor at IBP Corporation in Perry, Iowa. He retired in 2010 after several years of faithful service. Eugene enjoyed fishing, dancing and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to talk and have fun. His wonderful presence will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joyce Jackson; one daughter, Eugenia (Ricky) Hardy-Adams; two stepchildren, Elaine Youngblood (June Jackson) and Antwaine Pippins; four grandchildren, Antwaine Hardy, Ricky Adams, Rickya Adams and DreMonta Hicks; stepmother, Diane Jackson; three sisters, Deborah (Thomas) Jackson, Ann Jackson and Evelyn Hardy-Garrett; three brothers, Willoughby (Toni) Jackson, Christopher Mushatt and Keith Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one uncle, Melvin Thompson; two sisters-in-law, Edna Youngblood and Patricia Swilley; one brother-in-law, Tommie Youngblood; many other relatives and friends including a special friend, Michael Powell.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Rosielee and Henry Jackson, one son, Eugene Jackson Jr., one grandchild, KaVelyn Adams, one sister, Brenda Jackson, two brothers, James Jackson and Steven Jackson, mother and father-in-law, Sara and Arthur Youngblood.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Covenant Healthcare-Cooper and everyone who offered kind words, prayers and condolences.
