Eugene Jackson, Jr. (Lansing)

Mr. Eugene Jackson, Jr. passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 71 years old.He was born to Dancie Janet Jackson and Eugene Jackson, Sr. in Lansing, Michigan on Saturday, September 27, 1952.

Eugene graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1970 and continued his education at Oakland University. He dedicated much of his professional life to General Motors Corporation, working on the assembly line.

Beyond his work, Eugene was a man of diverse interest and talents. Known for his love of cooking, Eugene cultivated herbs and spices to enhance his culinary creations. A self-proclaimed computer junkie, he found joy in fixing electronics and exploring the world of technology. His sense of humor and ability to talk smack made him a delightful conversationalist, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of engaging with him. Whether engaged in a round of Bid Whist, spades, or hearts, he socialized in friendly competition and good-natured joking.

Eugene found solace and joy in his furry friends, Misel and Tink Tink. Their loyalty and love provided comfort during challenging times.

A creative soul, Eugene expressed himself through drawing, showcasing his imaginative mind. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and warmth that will be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Eugene is survived by his two daughters, Chiconia Nicole (Derick) Crusoe and Danielle Chaerae Jackson, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Eugene’s legacy extends to six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, creating a tapestry of love that will endure through generations.

He leaves behind a large, loving family including his mother, Dancie Janet Jackson; sisters, Cherry Lynn (Bruce) James and Darcel Jackson; brothers, Anthony (Thelma) Jackson, Victor (Alicia) Jackson, Kevin Jackson, and Maxi Jackson.

Eugene was preceded in death by Margaret Robinson, Eugene Jackson, Sr., Oceola and Mamie Jackson; and James Edward-Hart.
