Eva Watkins made his transition on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital. Age 80 years. He was born May 26, 1933 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Ida Pearl Rollins.
Eva relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1952 and began employment with General Motors. He faithfully attended Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. Eva loved fishing, gardening, auto mechanics, carpentry and dancing. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Sharon, Evette, Gwen and Sandy Watkins; his grandchildren, Shawonna McKinnie, RushDee and Herriyyah Williams, Shavonne and Nathan Watkins, Ondray and Lafayette Watkins, Charles, Tanisha, Charlene and Reco Watkins, Rushaad Bonds, Jimmy Pearly-Bell; two sisters, Earlene Rollins-Collins, Gloria Watkins; many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including special friends, Pastor Willie Hill Jr., Mother Clark, Mother Taylor, Reverend Thomas, Mr. And Mrs. Whitley and Pete Johnson.
Eva was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Bell Burgins-Watkins, mother, Ida Pearl Rollins, stepfather, Johnny Rollins, grandparents, Rhoda and Handy Lee, one daughter, Evonne Watkins, two brothers, A.J. Thomas and Troy Rollins, two sisters, Pearline Rollins-Rice and Georgia May, one grandson, Celvin A. Watkins.
