Fannie Jones-Young age 85 of Lansing, Michigan passed on Friday, December 6, 2013. Fannie was born September 21, 1928 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She was the youngest of five children born to Jessie and Nancy Jones.
Fannie was a domestic worker, later moving to Lansing, Michigan to raise her family. In 1999 Fannie married Refus C .Young. Fannie was a long time member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, under leadership of Pastor Walter Gibson. Fannie was known to all her friends as Ms. Jones and will always be remembered for her loving and kind spirit to all. She loved her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Fannie leaves to cherish her memory six sons, Ervin, Calvin (Carla), Elton, Anthony, Gilbert (Dee Dee) and Otis; three daughters, Patricia Simmons, Fannie Marie and Odessa Jones; her beloved sister-in-law Virginia (Jay) Barron; three nieces, Rosie, Ruby and Victoria of Lansing, Michigan; two nephews, Johnny of Lansing and Henry Jones Jr. of Delaware; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one special cousin, Ivory (Bo-peep) Jones of Mississippi and several other relatives.
Fannie was preceded in death by her paternal parents, husband and two sons.
