Mr. Felix Leon Wilkins was born April 7, 1947 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Joseph E. and Mary L. Wilkins. He passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the age of 72 years old.
Felix attended Flint Public Schools and was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. For a while, he was employed by Flint Public Schools as a janitor. Later in life, he moved to Saginaw, Michigan where he met and befriended a lot of wonderful people.
Felix loved being outdoors, cooking and barbecuing. He really loved music, especially jazz, James Brown and Jackie Wilson. He also enjoyed going to concerts and being around other music lovers. Felix was always his own person, who never conformed to the standards of others. He was confident in himself and in being his own person.
Felix was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Wilkins; sister, Rella Wilkins; aunt, Corine Wilkins; uncles, Filmore and Thomas Jefferson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Barbara Wilkins, Flint, Michigan; niece, Melissa Wilkins, Maple Heights, Ohio; nephew, Sean (D.J.) Wilkins, Saginaw, Michigan; cousins, Maxine Clemons, Betty Mason, Jerry McKinney; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends Kenneth Nesbitt, Eli Copeland and the wonderful residents of Saginaw, Michigan who were often kind to him.
