Floyd Jenkins

January 12, 1936 — March 13, 2014

Our beloved husband and father, Floyd Jenkins Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center. Age 78 years. He was born January 12, 1936 in Panther Burn, Mississippi to William and Lucy Jenkins.
Floyd relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1966. He was employed at Saginaw Malleable Iron Plant and a member of UAW Local 455 for several years before retiring in 1975. Floyd was a faithful member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rodrick Smith. He drove the church van on a weekly basis and was a dedicated member of the deacon board. Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing solitaire and visiting with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 59 years, Bella Jenkins; six daughters, Dorann Jenkins, Mary (Willie) Trammell, Gloria Jenkins, Patricia Burns, Emma (Larry) Taylor and Lorraine Jenkins, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Melissa (Jeffrey) Harris of Danville, Illinois; four sons, Floyd Jenkins Jr. and Dennis Jenkins, both of Saginaw, Michigan, John Jenkins and Earnest (Debbie) Jenkins, both of Danville, Illinois; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lucy Jenkins, one daughter, Geraldine, six sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren.
