Mr. Floyd B. Mims, Jr., a devoted father and proud grandfather, was born on May 13, 1967, in Brandon, Mississippi. He was the third oldest of seven children born to Floyd B. Mims Sr. and Mary Louise Mims.
Floyd, a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, graduated from Saginaw High School, Class of 1985. He attended Rosehill Missionary Baptist Church as a child where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Floyd worked as a skilled tradesman for Trinity Rail Operations in Georgia before relocating back to Saginaw. In his spare time, Floyd enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and watching his favorite TV shows; however, his greatest joy in life was his family. Floyd took pride in spending quality time and creating unforgettable memories. His work was completed on December 7, 2024, when he went home to be with his Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters and four sons: Terrell Daniels, T’Andre Daniels, Tiffany (Jacques) Reed, Floyd B. Mims III, Brandon Mims, Brandy (Dshawn) Morris, and Charclea Mims, Saginaw, Michigan; ten grandchildren: Ka’marion Mims, Tray’vyon Mims, Kyriah Phillips, Kamiyah Morris, Da’Maya Arthur, Floyd B. Mims IV, Jacques Reed II, Dalilah Morris, Isaac Reed, and Rylee Anderson, all of Saginaw; his mother, Mary Louise Mims; four sisters: Yolanda (Martel) Harris, Brandon, Mississippi, Yolanthe (Bruce) Brown, Ackworth, Georgia, Tina Taylor, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Tyrhonda Mims, Saginaw, Michigan; two brothers: Willis (Sabrina) Mims, and Tyrone Mims, both of Saginaw; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Sylvia Calhoun-Wirrick, and the beloved mother of his children, Flowreader Daniels.
Floyd was preceded in death by his father, Floyd B. Mims Sr; sisters, Mary Ann Hatchett and Debra Mims, brother-in-law, Clarence Hatchett Sr; grandparents, James (Maggie) Essex, and Robert (Ruby) Mims; niece, Lakeisha Harris; nephew, De’Quan Mims; and special friend, Shlindrill B. Lewis.
