Frank Richard Sr.

Mr. Frank Richard Sr. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper at the age of 89 years.
Frank was born in Bayou Chicot (Evangeline Parish), Louisiana on August 25, 1925 to the late Cephus and Cora (Williams) Richard. He was the youngest of five children. He lived in Alexandria, Louisiana until 1951 when he moved to Saginaw, Michigan. He worked for Draper Chevrolet upon arriving in Saginaw. Frank was well-known to the many people that came in and out of the dealership as an excellent automobile detailer. He later began working for General Motors, Grey Iron Division retiring after 39 years of service. He was a member UAW Local 668.
Mr. Richard was a man of very few words, but you always knew how he was feeling on any particular subject. Spending time with his family was of utmost importance to him. He enjoyed sports especially football, baseball and basketball. He had a great sense of humor, and one of his most favorite pastimes was watching sitcoms on television. Frank was also very concerned about his surroundings and he wanted to know what was going on. He often listened to his police scanner in order to know what was going on. He truly enjoyed having a good home-cooked meal. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Frank is survived by his wife, Esther Mae Thompson, whom he married in 1949 in Oakdale, Louisiana; one daughter and three sons, Lillian G. Donahue, Merrill, Michigan, Frank Richard Jr. (Elaine), Ypsilanti, Michigan, Terry (Emma) Richard, Saginaw, Michigan, and Kevin(Sandra) Richard, Belleville, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Reggie (Cora) Richard, Massolin, Ohio, Cindy Richard, Salem, Massachusetts, Darren Richard, Terry II(Setira) Richard, Keisha Richard all of Saginaw, Michigan; Angel (Omar) Lake, Miami, Florida, Kevandria (Donald) Foreman, and Kevin Richard II of Belleville, Michigan; ten great-grandchildren, Reggie, Ingrid, Sammy, Ashlynn (James), Darren II, Terry III, Chris, Mariah, Ashton, and Kaidonn; two great-great-grandchildren, Jordynn, and Jayde; sister-in-law, Bernice Larry, Los Angeles, California; two special nieces, Glenda (Wilbur) Ardoin, Beaumont, Texas and Shirley Venable, Chattanooga, Tennessee; many other relatives and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, son, Larry Richard in 2004, two brothers, Dan and Johnny Richard, two sisters, Mary Jane Richard, and Frither Laura Mae Richard.
