Frankie Brown

July 20, 1929 — October 29, 2018

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…” Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

A time to be born: Frankie Mae Brown was born on July 20, 1929 to the late Elihue and Modiner Watley in Enid, Mississippi.

A time to embrace: She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late
Rev. Jimmie Lee Brown on April 8, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1994.

A time to build up: In this union they were blessed with eight children, four girls and four boys. She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined the Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

A time to plant: She was a devoted mother and friend who wholeheartedly sowed her many gifts of love. Her passion for sewing, cooking, making crafts and flower arrangements were passed down to her children. She enjoyed going to church, fishing, gardening, upholstery furniture, and training her own little league baseball team (her children). She also helped raised many of her grandchildren.

A time to mourn: Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Rev. Jimmie Lee Brown; mother, Modiner Watley; father, Elihue Watley; two sons, Robert Earl Watley, James Brown; one sister and brother-in-law, Earlean (Jack) Myles; three brothers and two sisters-in-laws, Reese Watley, Walter (Delores), LQ (Florene) Watley; granddaughter, ShaMonica Brown.

A time to break down: She served faithfully in church until her health began to fail.

A time to die: She earned her crown as she departed this life on October 29, 2018.

A time to weep: She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Cleotha Brown, McMinnville, Tennessee, Leon Brown, Denver, Colorado; four daughters, Jerline Darby, Doris Brown, Saginaw, Michigan, Lisa (Faizan) Brown-Mughal, Concord, California, Shelley (James) Smith, Letohatchee, Alabama; one brother, Robert Lee (Cynithia) Payns, Flint, Michigan; thirty-one grandchildren; eighty-nine great-grandchildren; fifty-two great-great- grandchildren; devoted daughter, Jerline Darby; granddaughter, Yolanda (Jamie) Brown-Stanley; a dedicated grandson, Joseph Brown; supportive daughter-in-law, Shirley Calbert; a special friend, Mary Lou Jones; a passionate Home Health Aide, Kimberly Hugo; and many other relatives and friends.

A time to heal: Life of joy and peace she has found. Eternal life is now hers because she is free from pain.
