Frankie Powell

On Tuesday, October 2, 2012, age the young age of 57, Frankie Ann Powell received her heavenly wings to go and be with her Lord, after a long, yet courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 12, 1955 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to Fred and Monty Wheeler. For much of her life, Frankie resided in Saginaw, Michigan, until her retirement from Ameritech, now AT&T, after 28 years of dedicated service. After retirement, she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, until her health began to fail. She then relocated to Smyrna, Tennessee to reside with her loving daughter.
Frankie accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Prince of Peace Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, future great grandmother to baby E.J., daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Montverletia Wheeler; aunts, Rosemond Strickland, Helen Lane, Mabel Wheeler and Fannie Mae Wright; uncles, Donald Wheeler and Amos Lane, Sr.
Frankie Ann leaves to cherish her sweet and loving memories, devoted and special daughter, Michelle D. Buchanan; father, Frederick Wheeler, Sr.; sister, Velicia Gibson; brother, Frederick (Vurlia) Wheeler, Jr.; three grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Emontre Buchanan, Jaylen Buchanan, and Aniyah De-Ann Buchanan; niece, Ashley Wheeler; nephew, Frederick Alexander Wheeler; godsons, Quintel Young and Jarvis Young, Jr.; goddaughters, Miesha Lewis and LaTorie Kincaid; a special niece and caregiver, Denise Chandler; special friends, Bernice Franklin and Family, Mattie Hill, Billie Britt, Cecelia Lewis Rolling, Phyllis Brooks, Sheila Fuller, Sara Hawkins, Deborah Kincaid (caregiver); and a host of many other relatives and friends that were very dear to her.
Her legacy will continue to live on through the lives of those who loved her, and will miss her dearly.
