Mr. Freddie Lee Harris transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 86. He was born on September 12, 1932 to Wilford and Lizzie Harris in Armorel, Arkansas.
During his childhood, he loved playing baseball. He played throughout his adult life. Upon graduating from Harrison High School, he entered into the United States Army. Freddie served for two years and was honorably discharged. In 1955, he married the love of his life, the late Georcie V. Scott. They were happily married for 62 years. Upon arriving in Lansing, Michigan in 1955, Freddie worked at General Motors. Later that same year, he began a career with the City of Lansing that lasted for 38 years, eventually retiring in 1992.
Freddie had an awesome sense of humor. He enjoyed making people laugh. No matter the situation he found a way of making your smile. He was fun-loving, mild mannered and had a gentle spirit. He enjoyed good times with family and friends.
Freddie’s interest included, bowling (he bowled in 2017), watching baseball, going to the casino, playing “hi numbers” and playing cards with family and friends. Freddie was definitely a “People Person.”
